What sets Robots & Humans apart?

Our ability to cut the crap and get messages communicated quickly. We do this through the pursuit of plain language, without prejudice or insecurity.

Because our priority is creating understanding and I bet you didn’t know that the average reading age ability amongst adults in the UK is 9 years old…

Allow me to demonstrate what I mean by presenting this sentence from the “accessible” 64-page summary of a recent 2900-page report from The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC):

“Estimates of aggregate economic benefits from avoiding damages from climate change, and from reduced adaption costs, increase with the stringency of mitigation (high confidence).”

I’m not afraid to admit that I don’t understand a word of that and I’m pretty sure a 9-year-old wouldn’t either. I can hear the defence of “you’re not the intended audience for this document”, but what can possibly be gained from making something so inaccessible and gobbledegook? On the urgent topic of climate change, where the clock is ticking and action is urgent, shouldn’t we all understand everything? Urgently!

In amongst the relentless use of ADKAR and Kotor change methodologies, I remind those involved in technology marketing, implementation or change that The Plain English Campaign says that many staff working for big corporate organisations find themselves using management speak as a way of disguising the fact that they haven’t done their job properly.

So quite simply, none of us can afford to not speak clearly. Call us and let’s talk, in plain English (translators available).
